On March 5th, 2024, the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) sent a delegation of 14 individuals, including the Head of Psychology Master's Program at UNY, the Secretary of the Psychology Department at FIPP UNY, FIPP UNY Psychology Lecturers, and educational staff, to conduct benchmarking activities at the Faculty of Psychology, Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in Surakarta. The delegation was led by FIPP UNY Dean, Prof. Nurtanio Agus Purwanto, M.Pd.

The activity commenced as the delegation departed from FIPP UNY at 10:30 am and took a break for lunch at a restaurant on Slamet Riyadi Street in Surakarta before continuing their journey to Psychology UNS at 1:00 pm.

Upon arrival at Psychology UNS, the delegation was welcomed by the Head of Psychology UNS, Dr. Moh. Abdul Hakim, S.Psi., MA. The benchmarking activity took place from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The event began with a welcome address from the Head of Psychology UNS, followed by remarks from Dean FIPP UNY.

Subsequently, a video profile of Psychology UNS was screened, and a presentation about Psychology UNS was delivered by the Head of Psychology UNS. A discussion and question-and-answer session were also held in preparation for the establishment of the Faculty of Psychology at UNY. The delegation from FIPP UNY gained valuable knowledge and experiences from this activity, considering that Psychology UNS had successfully become an independent faculty since 2021.

At 3:45 pm, the delegation left Psychology UNS after taking a group photo as a memento. Prior to that, a group photo was also taken with all the lecturers and educational staff from both FIPP UNY and Psychology UNS as a symbol of friendship and collaboration between the two institutions.
