Strengthening Ties: UNY Explores Collaboration with UNAIR for the Establishment of the Faculty of Psychology

In an effort to advance plans for the establishment of the Faculty of Psychology at the State University of Yogyakarta (UNY), a delegation represented by Deputy Deans 1, 2, and 3 of the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences (FIPP) UNY, the Head of the Department of Psychology at FIPP UNY, and Psychology Lecturers from FIPP UNY conducted a benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Psychology at Airlangga University (UNAIR) on Thursday, March 7, 2023.

The delegation from the Department of Psychology at UNY was warmly received by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Suryanto, M.Si, a psychologist, along with Deputy Dean 1 for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nur Ainy Fardana N., M.Si., a psychologist; Deputy Dean 2, Dimas Aryo Wicaksono, S.Psi., M.Sc.; Deputy Dean 3, Endang Retno Surjaningrum, M.AppPsych., Ph.D., a psychologist, as well as department heads, program coordinators, and faculty members of the Faculty of Psychology at UNAIR.

The event commenced with a welcoming address by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at UNAIR, expressing strong support for the establishment of the Faculty of Psychology at UNY. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of graduates to ensure competitiveness in the job market.

Following the welcoming remarks, Dr. Nur Ainy Fardana N., M.Si., a psychologist, delivered a presentation on curriculum development, income-generating sources, and research studies by faculty members aimed at assisting students in completing their final assignments.

This benchmarking visit serves as a significant step towards fostering collaboration between UNY and UNAIR in the field of psychology education. Through sharing expertise and resources, both institutions aim to enhance the quality of education and produce highly skilled graduates equipped for the challenges of the modern workforce.
